Price of steel cable trays in Mauritius

Steel cable trays in Mauritius typically range from MUR 500 to MUR 2,500 per meter, depending on material, size, and specifications.

Price Overview

The cost of a steel cable tray in Mauritius varies based on several factors: Material Type: Mild steel trays are generally more affordable, while hot-dip galvanized or stainless steel trays designed for corrosion resistance in humid coastal climates are more expensive. Tray Size and Load Capacity: Wider trays or those designed to carry heavier loads cost more. Standard widths range from 100 mm to 600 mm, with larger trays commanding higher prices.

Design and Features: Modular, perforated, or ladder-style trays with fire-retardant coatings or pre-fabricated sections can increase the price. Supplier and Brand: Local suppliers like MRC Wire Products Ltd and Brikonek offer competitive pricing, but imported or specialized trays may cost more due to shipping and compliance with Mauritian standards.

Typical Cost Range

Mild Steel Cable Tray: Approximately MUR 500–1,200 per meter. Galvanized Steel Cable Tray: Approximately MUR 1,200–2,000 per meter, offering better corrosion resistance. Stainless Steel Cable Tray: Can reach MUR 2,000–2,500 per meter, suitable for high-humidity or coastal installations.

Additional Considerations

Installation Costs: Labor and mounting hardware can add 20–40% to the material cost. Bulk Orders: Purchasing in larger quantities may reduce the per-meter cost. Compliance and Standards: Ensure trays meet BS 476 fire-retardant standards and local import regulations.

Availability: Urban centers like Port Louis and industrial zones have better access to suppliers, while remote areas may incur additional delivery charges. For accurate pricing, it is recommended to contact local suppliers directly for quotes based on your project specifications, including tray length, width, material, and any special coatings or features. This ensures the cost estimate reflects current market conditions and import fluctuations in Mauritius.
