Price of galvanized cable trays in Mauritius

Galvanized cable trays in Mauritius typically range from around ₨425 to ₨2,695 per unit, depending on size, type, and supplier.

Pricing Overview

The cost of hot-dip galvanized cable trays varies based on length, width, thickness, and perforation type. For example, standard 2. 5-meter hot-dip galvanized trays are listed at prices such as ₨995, ₨1,325, ₨1,795, and up to ₨2,695 depending on specifications.

Smaller or simpler trays may cost as low as ₨425 to ₨625 per unit.

Factors Affecting Cost

Material and Finish: Hot-dip galvanizing provides superior corrosion resistance, especially important in Mauritius' humid, coastal climate, which can justify higher prices. Tray Type: Perforated trays, ladder trays, and channel trays differ in price due to manufacturing complexity and intended use. Dimensions and Load Capacity: Wider or heavier-duty trays designed for industrial or high-capacity installations cost more.

Supplier and Brand: Local suppliers like Brikonek and MRC Wire Products offer a range of options, with pricing influenced by import costs, certifications, and after-sales support.

Market Context

The Mauritian cable tray market is growing due to infrastructure development, industrial expansion, and renewable energy projects. There is a strong preference for corrosion-resistant materials like hot-dip galvanized steel, and modular or pre-fabricated systems are increasingly popular for faster installation. Prices can fluctuate with raw material costs and import regulations.

Recommendations

Compare multiple suppliers to find the best balance of price, quality, and warranty. Consider the total installed cost, including supports, bends, and accessories, not just the unit price. Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and international standards (IEC 61537, NEMA VE 1, BS EN 61537) for safety and durability.

By evaluating these factors, you can select galvanized cable trays that meet both budget and performance requirements for projects in Mauritius.
