Palau Mobile Optical Cable Manufacturer

NEC Corporation of Japan is the manufacturer and system integrator for Palau's submarine optical cable projects. The Belau Submarine Cable Corporation (BSCC), a state-owned enterprise established in 2015, owns and manages Palau's international submarine fiber optic network, including Palau Cable 1 (PC1) and Palau Cable 2 (PC2),.

Palau Cable Projects

Palau Cable 1 (PC1): Launched in 2017, PC1 connects Palau to a branching unit on the SEA-US submarine cable system in Guam, providing Palau with its first high-capacity international internet connection.

C supplied the wet and dry cable segments, terminal station equipment, and coordinated installation and testing. Palau Cable 2 (PC2): Contracted in 2021, PC2 is a 110 km optical submarine cable linking Palau to the Echo submarine cable network, providing direct connections to Singapore and the U. S. mainland.

PC2 uses a 100 Gbps optical wavelength multiplexing system and was scheduled for completion in 2022.
